Marshall Bruce Mathers III (October 17, 1972, Saint Joseph, Missouri), known by his stage name Eminem is a rapper, record producer and actor. He became popular in 1999 with his studio album The Slim Shady LP, which won a Grammy for Best Rap Album. His next album, The Marshall Mathers LP, became the biggest selling album in the history of hip hop the fastest in the United States. Eminem won greater popularity, highlighting his own record label Shady Records, and led his group D12 to a general recognition. 



The Marshall Mathers LP and his third album, The Eminem Show, also won Grammy awards and in 2002, won the Oscar for best original song for the single "Lose Yourself" from the movie 8 Mile, where he also played the lead role. Then Eminem went on hiatus after touring in 2005 for a tour of his album Encore, and after several years he released his fifth and sixth album, Relapse, 15 May 2009 and Recovery, on June 22, 2010. Eminem has sold over 80 million albums worldwide, and is the biggest selling artist of the decade of 2000. Also ranked number 82 in the list of the 100 greatest artists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. 



He was also named the best rapper by Vibe Magazine. It was named "Artist of the Decade" (Artist of the Decade) by Rolling Stone. In total, including his work with D12, Eminem has made nine albums # 1 on Billboard, and fourteen # 1 singles worldwide. Eminem is the best selling rapper of all time.
